The Garmin Approach made a day golfing with my son that much better. Getting my shots estimated was easy because I could do it where I was and I didn’t have to waste my time looking around for markers. He liked that he could use the simple drag and drop pin feature to get a rather close estimate of how far away his targets were.

You may run into some problems right out of the box, as you’ll need to download the courses you need into the Approach if it doesn’t have them. However, he also states that once the newest maps were downloaded he did not have any difficulty using the device at a nearby golf course.
