Customer Feedback of Garmin Approach G5
The Garmin Approach made a day golfing with my son that much better. Getting my shots estimated was easy because I could do it where I was and I didn’t have to waste my time looking around for markers. He liked that he could use the simple drag and drop pin feature to get a rather close estimate of how far away his targets were.
You may run into some problems right out of the box, as you’ll need to download the courses you need into the Approach if it doesn’t have them. However, he also states that once the newest maps were downloaded he did not have any difficulty using the device at a nearby golf course. He was amazed at how easy the Garmin Approach G 5 GPS system was to use.
He could not help but compare the Garmin Approach G5 to other rangefinders he had tried for golf outings, and states that there really trying to do this is like trying to compare apples to oranges. However, when it comes to hazards or being in the rough, the Garmin is extraordinary in terms of its usefulness. He does comment that the Garmin Approach cannot give you exact distances, but is able to give good estimates. This is a minor complaint, however.
